MFT ENTRY - CLEAN & SIMPLE CATEGORY

I was excited to see the 2017 card design competition on the My Favourite Things blog.  When I saw they had a clean & simple category I thought I may as well give it a go!  All the details for the competition are here.

I used my most frequently used and favorite die of the moment, the HUGS die along with the Distressed Patterns stamp set.  I stamped some of the distress patterns onto vellum with embossing ink before coating in white embossing powder and heat setting it. I then sewed the vellum panel to my card base.  I heat set some embossing powder onto some white card stock before die cutting the HUGS letters from it, and then added them to the card base.  As you can see very CAS!

Addicted to CAS challenge - White on White

Hi.  Just dropping in quickly to post this card I made last week before I'm too late.  I made it for the Addicted to CAS Challenge #114 - White on White.

I used the MFT Hugs die yet again, and Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles to make my background.

I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes.

I hope you have a great week!

Happy Birthday!

Hi.

I love using gold on cards, so I had to play along with the latest challenge by Scrapbook Boutique.

I used the Golden Garden stamp set by Altenew, but instead of stamping the second layer with a different colour ink, I gold heat embossed it instead.  I like how it turned out, it's not perfect but that's ok.

I am also going to put my card in the latest Seize the Birthday challenge.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Hugs

Hi

Well I'm finally back with a blog post, it has been a long time....

I have still been making the odd card, but life just got so busy that is was really hard to find some spare time.

I've decided to start making a few changes, so that I can spend some quality time with the family, plus get back into this hobby I love.

I've made a card that was inspired by two challenges, the CAS on Sunday - use a repetition image, and Less is More - shimmer.

I used the butterfly die from Concord & 9th for my repetition background, and the My Favorite Things Hugs die which I die cut from paper I had sponged some distress oxide inks onto. I added some Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the Hugs die for some shimmer although it's hard to see in the photo, along with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish it off.
