CASE study challenge #142 & Moxie Fab World

Hi.  I am feeling a lot better today but unfortunately my toddler seems to have been struck down with it now.  I wish I could be the one to still be feeling sick not him, it is so hard when they can't tell you exactly what is wrong.  There has been lots of grizzling and a high temp, hopefully it will pass quickly.

When Sebastian had a 'nap' I took the opportunity to play along with the latest CASE study challenge.  Maile Belles was one of the first blogs I started to follow, I love her work so I really wanted to play along.  I was inspired by the flower and leaves but decided to make a tag instead of a card.  This is what I came up with.

I am also going to link this up to the Gift Tag Challenge on the Moxie Fab World blog.

Happy Birthday Tris - DD #53 & Addicted to CAS

Hello, unfortunately I haven't felt well the last couple of days but I wanted to make a card for my step-son's 13th birthday on Saturday so I sat down at the desk to make my card, and let's just say it didn't go to plan.  I think I should have waited till I felt better but not too worry.  You know what it's like when you have an idea in your head but it just doesn't turn out that way?  I hope he likes it anyway :)

I am going to put this in the Dynamic Duos & Addicted to CAS challenges.

Thanks for stopping by.

10 min Craft Dash #17, RS #62 & CFC #100

Well I thought it was time to have another try at the 10 minute craft dash and I haven't played along with Retrosketches for ages so I wanted to use their sketch.  It also fits the latest challenge at CAS-ual Fridays as it uses kraft, bling & embossing.

Call Me

I finished my card in 9 minutes 25 seconds.  I knew I wasn't going to make it in time if I stuck to my original plan, which was to add some ribbon and I intended to fussy cut the embossed telephone as well.  As time was ticking away I decided to heat emboss the telephone straight onto the panelled speech bubble instead, which I actually really like so it ended up ok.

I used Versamark ink to stamp the chevron pattern onto kraft cardstock and then cut out 1/2 inch pieces of the blue cardstock and stuck into onto a piece of scrap cardstock, I then heat embossed the speech bubble onto the panels and cut it out.  I added a heat embossed sentiment and some bling, added it to the kraft card base and all done.

I can't believe it took as long as it did really but it shows how time flies.  I must remember to increase my screen saver time settings next time though as I had to keep unlocking my screen to see how long I had left!

Tuesday Trigger, CAS on Sunday, CASology Challenges

I made this card after being inspired by the gorgeous Tuesday Trigger picture above.  I used my distress markers and water pen to colour the beautiful flower image I had white heat embossed.  I was lucky to win four stamp sets from Clearly Besotted Stamps recently (thanks Stephanie), and chose the set Happy Everything as one of my sets.  So glad I did!

Sending Love

I used the sketch below from CAS on Sunday, I wanted something simple to set the flower off and thought this sketch would go so well.

I am also going to link it up to CASology where the theme this challenge is care.

Little Tangles #12 - Colour Challenge

Hi!  Welcome to my new look blog.  I still have a few minor changes to make but overall it is looking how I imagined. I wanted a very clean look to go along with my style and I think I have achieved that.

Enough about my blog though, the reason for this post is that it is time for a Little Tangles Challenge!  This time it is a colour challenge and the colours to choose from are gorgeous! You need to use two of the colours and as you can see I chose to use aqua and coral. I used the let's celebrate sentiment from the Party Dots set.

I actually made a different card first which you can see below too.  I wasn't totally happy with it, I thought the colours were a little off and my water colouring could have been better so I made another one.

Lets Celebrate!

If you don't have any Neat & Tangled stamp yet, still play along by grabbing one of the FREE digital stamps over on the Little Tangles Challenge blog

There is a fantastic prize up for grabs, a stamp set of your choice from Neat & Tangled stamps.
I can't wait to see what you create, link up your creation over on the challenge blog, you have until May 12 at 11:59 EST.

CASE study DT search

I thought I would have a go at the DT search over at the CASE study challenge blog.  It was so hard to pick one personal Muse, there are so many people I look up to in the card making community.

I eventually narrowed it down to cards from Wida Miller, Laurie Willison, Julie Ebersole and Debby Hughes.  I decided to go with a card from Debby as I'm really loving the gold glitter and embossing I have been seeing around the web.

This is Debby's beautiful card:

And this is my CASE of her card:

Happy Mother's Day

The gold I used is more yellow than Debby's but I still like it.  I only had matte gold sequins too but I think they still go ok.

There are still a few days left to submit a card for the DT search so why not check out the details here.

Thanks for stopping by.
